Prior to venturing into the “discovery process” of what color choices to make, something to consider:
· Analyze and identify proper color breaks as to not breakup the “flow”
· Recognize decorative accent walls are creative but tend to bring walls in and recommended for larger spaces vs smaller ones
· Adding detail such as decorative trim and moldings and changing dated light fixtures prior to painting to maximize the space potential and avoid any unwanted lines on ceilings from current light fixture
· Maximize your savings by paying for any needed scaffolding (one time only) and schedule other vendors such as trimmers and electrician to share and utilize the scaffolding
· Recognize how direct sun can minimize color choices if a light color palette is chosen vs. creating a “glow” color shade when you mix direct sun and yellow!
· Consider budgeting for painting first prior to decorative window treatments to avoid having to pay to take down and re-install window treatments
· Avoid trendy bolder color palettes that can lose their appeal over time
